May 10, 2007—Bellevue, WA. The numbers are in: PCmover – the number one selling migration utility in the world – is now outselling its competitors by a margin of 3 to 1 in North America.
Data from the NPD Group for North America shows Laplink Software’s PCmover commands 71.6% market share in the first quarter of 2007, clearly out-selling other migration products in its category – including Transfer Your PC and Desktop DNA Migrator.
PCmover remains the only product on the market that transfers files, settings and installed software programs from an old to a new PC. It works over networks, the Easy Transfer Cable for Windows Vista, Laplink USB cables, parallel and serial cables, and removable media. PCmover even migrates from operating systems as old as Windows 95 all the way up to Vista.
“We’re pleased, but not surprised to see PCmover take such a commanding lead in the migration category,” says Thomas Koll, Chairman and CEO of Laplink Software. “Our competitors simply don’t offer the same total migration solution that we do – our recent sales figures, customer feedback and press coverage all attest to that fact.”
PCmover is available on the shelves at most major PC retailers, and online at www.laplink.com. Prices start at $49.95.
