Laplink HistoryFor 25 years, millions of PC users have turned to Laplink to migrate, transfer, synchronize, share, and remotely access their data. Since its inception in 1983 – shortly after the launch of the original IBM-PC – Laplink immediately established itself as the leading solution for PC connectivity and large file transfer. We began offering a simple, efficient method of transferring large quantities of data from one computer to another across the classic Laplink serial cable. Over the years, this commitment to develop and advance transfer and migration technology led to PCmover, now the top-selling migration product in the world. PCmover now commands over 70% of the migration software market in U.S. retail outselling its competitors 3-to-1. Key to this market dominance is that only PCmover provides users with application and folder selectivity. And, the official magazines for both Windows XP and Windows Vista recommend PCmover as their migration software of choice. Laplink’s product line has also evolved with the development of the Internet to include Internet-based, wireless, and peer-to-peer solutions for an increasingly mobile workforce. Starting in 2007, we released PDAsync, a corporate world must-have that syncs data between multiple devices with essential business applications; PCsync, an easy-to-use file synchronization utility that employs patented SpeedSync® technology; Laplink RemoteAssist for PC customer and employee support; and Laplink Gold 2008, a globally recognized solution for complete PC connectivity building on the original "LapLink" legacy. Later this year, we will release the much anticipated Laplink Everywhere 5 - a flexible remote access solution compatible with today’s lifestyle. One-click remote access will become a reality with Laplink Toolbar, a utility that will allow PC owners to access their remote PCs at anytime and anywhere, free of charge. With indispensable remote search functionality and access from mobile phones, Laplink Toolbar truly offers consumers the mobility and “connectedness” they desire. Laplink enjoys strong OEM partnerships with PC manufacturers such as Dell, Gateway, Toshiba and Sony. Laplink products are available through most major PC retailers in North America, Europe, Japan, and Australia. Laplink Software is a privately held company headquartered in Bellevue, Washington whose only outside investor is Microsoft Corporation. We continue to grow 30-40% each year over year, which we anticipate continuing or even accelerating in the near future. Our global presence includes a worldwide network of sales representatives, with offices in the United States, Canada and Europe as well as international marketing and customer support. Laplink products are generally available in English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, and Japanese.
